Day 1:
On arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport in Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation for the night. Your guide will meet you at the lodge and then embark on a short orientation city tour of Windhoek. The evening is spent at leisure.

Day 2:
Today you will make your way to the Namib Naukluft National Park, which contains what is considered to be the oldest desert in the world.

Day 3:
Today you will wake up early to visit the world’s highest sand dunes at Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. These dunes, which can reach heights of over 900 feet, are absolutely spectacular and provide for a fantastic photo opportunity. With luck, there may even be water in the vlei (lake). You also stop to view the Sesriem Canyon, which was carved millions of years ago by the Tsauchab River.

Day 4:
The day is spent driving through the Namib Naukluft National Park on your way to Swakopmund. The Namib-Naukluft Desert is an ancient land with an ageless spirit. It is home to some of the rarest plant and animal species in the world. Sightings of these unique fauna and flora are a must on a Namibian safari. The animals of this harsh landscape include the oryx, springbok and Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra. You arrive at the charming coastal town of Swakopmund in the afternoon, where you will have the opportunity to partake in a few of the many optional activities this afternoon and the following day. Alternatively, just soak up the atmosphere of this quaint, little German town and enjoy its beauty and beaches.

Day 5:
Early morning departure to Walvis Bay Waterfront. You will meet a local kayak guide and continue on a scenic drive along the Walvis Bay Lagoon to Pelican Point. Stop along the way to take pictures of the countless flamingos, pelicans, large flocks of cormorants and great variety of other birds and wildlife. After one hour you will reach Pelican Point where you will get your kayaks ready for adventure. Your local kayak guide will give you a safety briefing on how to use the equipment. After kayaking, you recharge during breakfast with some fresh broetchens, tea and coffee before you will go back to Swakopmund. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 6:
Leaving the cold Atlantic coastline behind, you then head inland across the desert plains to Spitzkoppe, an iconic group of curved granite mountains with vivid colours. After a walk among the boulders to view the ancient Bushmen paintings and engravings, continue on to the town of Omaruru where you will overnight. Once a mission station, the settlement has great historic significance and has evolved into an artistic hub for local crafts and small industries.

Day 7:
Today you will have a remarkable cultural experience encountering a local Bushmen community which will offer us a glimpse into their ancient hunter gatherer ways on a guided bush walk. On our visit to the Living Museum of the San at Omandumba Farm, you will have the opportunity to learn about the traditional uses of plants and herbs, collecting food, hunting, snaring and tracking as well as lighting fire. In the afternoon, you will stop at local distillery and small wine cellar in Omaruru to taste some of its home-grown produce.

Day 8:
On your journey today you will travel to Namibia’s best-known highlight of the north – Etosha National Park. You will fill the next 2 days with game drives in the hopes of spotting lion, leopard, elephant and rhino as well as cheetah, giraffe, zebra and the numerous different types of antelope the park has to offer.

Day 9:
Safari in Etosha National Park. Etosha was declared a National Park in 1907 and it is home to approximately 114 mammal species, 340 bird species, 110 reptile species, 16 amphibian species and, surprisingly, one species of fish.

Day 10:
This morning you bid farewell to the wild animals of Etosha and travel back to Windhoek through the beautiful countryside, making short stops en-route. Once you arrive, the rest of the afternoon can be spent at leisure before you enjoy true Namibian hospitality and a farewell dinner at the legendary Joe’s Beerhouse restaurant.

Day 11:
Your safari ends after breakfast. You will be transferred to Windhoek Airport in time for your departure flight.
